The energy sector is strained by prolonged load shedding, and unpredictable fuel prices further impact economic stability. The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) reported a slight decrease in the Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket (BNNB) for June 2024, mainly due to seasonal availability of certain food items, though overall food costs have risen dramatically since January.
