This collection will hold documents that will provide information on things like Strategic plans, policy documents that give guidelines to Staff and Patrons.
The Social and Economic Development (SED) Programme of the JCTR is one of the core programmes whose overall objective is to see an improved political and economic governance that is responsive to the needs of the poor and marginalized in Zambia.
The collection has materials anchored on the Budget cycle (Budget analysis) from laws that govern it, transparency in the budget process, participation of citizens and Local Community based Organizations to implementation and auditing (e.g. through Social audits), findings of the Auditor General’s report
This collection contains documents/ materials that review current laws such as poverty and vulnerability in light of the cost of living; a look at the Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket (BNNB) as it relates to social and economic development.
The Faith and Justice Programme promotes a faith-based approach to justice in the social, political, economic and cultural sphere. Through this programme, JCTR seeks to ensure increased accountability among Political Leaders as well as promoting active citizenship. Additionally, through this programme, JCTR promotes the Catholic Social Teaching, Care for the Environment, Human Rights and Governance.
Climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing issues in Zambia affecting socio economic development. The country has over the past years experienced a number of climate related hazards including droughts and dry spells, seasonal and flash floods, and extreme temperatures.
This collection seeks to show the way to God through the Spiritual Exercises and discernment and therefore forms the people through: Workshops, formation trainings using the Catholic Social Teaching (CST), the media as well as publication of education and scholarly materials.
This collection seeks to give information on how JCTR advocates for good governance by promoting the Servant Leadership model and encouraging citizens to participate in Constitutional and Legal reforms.
