Abstract
The impacts of COVID-19 on the public health system and country is scary and must be stopped. JCTR commended Government on its actions to help stop the spread through screening and testing Kafue, Emmazdale and Chaisa townships and training health workers from private hospitals on case management and infection prevention. Recent cases were reported in townships where safety measures such as social distancing and wearing of masks are not being observed. They also urged the Ministry of Health to proactively intensify mass screening and testing in those communities in order to not be out-run by it.
Description
Preventing the spread of COVID-19 is one of the priorities of Government. This statement includes the efforts made by government to help stop the spread of the virus and the reluctance of the Ministry of Health to conduct mass screening and testing in communities with detected cases. It also points out the recommendations made by JCTR to the Ministry of Health to proactively intensify screening and testing in communities to prevent the country from being out-run by COVID-19.
