dc.description | Policies are put in place to provide direction and guidance for the attainment of objectives. However, this is not the case in Zambia. This statement shows the current challenges the youth in Zambia are facing and why it should not be allowed to continue. The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) recommends that government should prioritize and implement developmental policies that will grant the youth an opportunity to realize their full potential in life and to contribute constructively to the society and to national development. | en |
dc.description.abstract | Zambia will join the rest of the world in commemorating the Youth Day on Tuesday, 12th March, 2019. The Zambian youth faces numerous challenges which include, high unemployment, limited opportunity to access and attain tertiary education and to participate in decision-making processes. Current youth unemployment levels have been estimated in the range of 10.5 to 15.4 percent. This is primarily because the current development policies and their implementation have failed to contribute positively to addressing the needs of the Zambian youth. | en |
