Lusaka August 2014 Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket Report
Abstract
This survey was conducted on 29th and 30th August 2014 by the Social & Economic Development Programme of the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection. Average prices were calculated on the basis of prices gathered from retail outlets at Northmead, Shoprite (Cairo Road), City Market, Chawama, Chainda, Kabwata, Matero and schools, clinics/hospitals and filling stations around Lusaka. The August Basic Needs Basket is approximately US$625 based upon the exchange rate of K5.9881 per US$ prevailing on the day of data collection.
