Mongu April 2014 Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket Report

This survey was conducted on 26th April 2014 by the Social Conditions Programme of the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection. Average prices were calculated on the basis of surveys conducted at Limulunga Market, Mulambwa Market, Central Market, Town Centre Market, Imwiko market and Town Centre Shoprite. Additional information was obtained from ZESCO, the Western Water and Sewerage Company and schools, clinics and houses around Mongu. The April Basic Needs Basket is approximately US$313 based upon the exchange rate of K 6.2552 per US$ prevailing on 25th April, 2014. Please note that other monthly costs would include personal care, clothing, recreation, etc.
