Kabwe January 2014 Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket

This survey was conducted from 28th January 2014 by the Social and Economic Development Programme of the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection. Average prices were calculated on the basis of surveys conducted at Kamanda Market, Katondo Market, Nakoli Market, Lukanga Market and Town Centre Shoprite. Additional information was obtained from ZESCO, the Lukanga Water and Sewerage Company and schools, clinics and houses around Kabwe. The January Basic Needs Basket is approximately US$454based upon the exchange rate of K5.5444 per US$ prevailing on the day of data collection. Please note that other monthly costs would include personal care, clothing, recreation, etc.
