Lusaka September 2008 Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket Report
Abstract
This survey was conducted on 29th to 30th September 2008 by the Social Conditions Programme of the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection. Average prices were calculated on the basis of prices gathered from retail outlets at Northmead, Shoprite (Kafue Road), CityMarket, Chawama, Chainda, Kabwata, Matero and schools, clinics/hospitals around Lusaka. The September Basic Needs Basket isapproximately US$511 based upon an average middle exchange rate of 3575 Kwacha per US$ at the end of September.
