Lusaka June 2013 Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket Report

This survey was conducted on 25th to 28th June, 2013 by the Social Conditions Programme of the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection. Average prices were calculated on the basis of prices gathered from retail outlets at Northmead, Shoprite (Cairo Road), City Market, Chawama, Chainda, Kabwata, Matero and schools, clinics/hospitals and filling stations around Lusaka. The June Basic Needs Basket is approximately US$675 based upon the exchange rate of K5.4624 per US$ prevailing on the days of data collection.
